Pastor with a Vision

Pastor Beverly A. Simmons was born in Springfield, Ohio where she lived until 2007. She was educated in Springfield, graduating from Springfield South High School.  She later went to Wright State University where she received her bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy and Finance.  She was married to the late Fred Robinson and to this union four children were born; Kimberly Bolden, Shelli Burch, Lori Robinson and Kristi Robinson.  She also has 4 grandchildren,3 great grand-childern and many foster children.  She was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 13 at El Bethel Temple pastored by Bishop Raymond E. Lloyd, Sr.  She was active in her previous church, Church of Jesus Family Worship Center pastored then by Bishop Emeritus Cecil A. Pratt.  She was Christian Women’s President, Altar Worker, Ministerial Alliance President, Sunday School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, Vacation Bible School Director and also taught a home Bible Study.

Pastor Beverly Simmons was called to the ministry in 1982 and received her license with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in 1985 and Ordained in 2003.    She is the past president of the Ohio District Council Christian Women and the SWR Christian Women, formally known as SOD Christian Women.   She is the Treasurer of the Ohio District Council of Pentecostal Churches.

Pastor Simmons married in 2007 to the late, Elder Anderson A. Simmons, Jr.  He was the pastor of First Pentecostal Bibleway Church in Oxford, Ohio. With the marriage of Elder Simmons her family grew, having another daughter Danielle Roebuck-Simmons, a granddaughter and two great-grandsons.   Her duties at the church were Church Administrator, Altar Worker, D.C.E. and Teacher.

Elder Anderson Simmons, Jr. by the direction of God changed the name of the church to God’s House of Praise and Worship in 2013.  On August 4, 2015 Elder Anderson Simmons, Jr. retired from the pastorate and Pastor Beverly Simmons was unanimously voted by the Executive Board of the church to be the pastor.  On August 25, 2015, there was a church meeting, conducted by the Honorable Bishop Paul A. Bowers, our Diocesan and it was official that Evangelist Beverly Simmons was the Pastor.

Pastor Simmons is always busy.  Her love for people draws her to so many that just want to be around her; seeking her help or advice.  She has been blessed to preach across this country and out of the United States.  Her greatest desire in life is to be found doing the will of God.
